About Nelia:
Nelia Groenewald is a ‘double’ teacher. She is currently employed at a renowned remedial school and is teaching grade 4. Although she was educated as a foundation phase teacher at Denneoord, Stellenbosch, she has taught multiple grades throughout her 38-year teaching career. This has given her a unique insight into the mindset of students at various ages as well as the best way to engage them in a specific field of interest. 
 
Her musical expertise include: 
Studying the teaching of music at Stellenbosch University
20 Years of giving music lessons
Successfully leading approximately 35 students to pass their music exams (in clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, drums and piano)
Accompaniment of choirs on various instruments (piano, guitar, accordion)
Other accompaniments at schools (school assemblies, national/ school anthem/s)
Years of accompaniment in churches
Forming and leading of orchestras for churches
Forming and leading of informal youth orchestras consisting of her own music students.

She continuously ensures her own growth in music, enabling her to give lessons on a wider and more contemporary basis. She has been particularly focused on cultivating methods to share her love of music and her skills to neuro-diverse children and children with other special needs.
